Instruction in adult basic education skills and literacy is provided in order to:

• Increase the basic reading, writing, speaking and numeric/math skills necessary for adults to obtain employment and self-sufficiency and to successfully advance in the workforce;

• Assist adults in the completion of a secondary school education (or it's equivalent) and the transition to postsecondary education;

• Increase the basic reading, writing, speaking, and numeric/math skills of parents to enable them to support the educational development of their children and make informed choices regarding their children's education,

• Improve English proficiency and literacy skills for those whose native language in not English.
