           Our phytoplankton is grown in 2-liter soda bottles using Florida Aqua Farms nutrient and Instant Ocean synthetic sea salt.  We test salinity using a refractometer for accuracy to the thousandth.  Our algae culture is then monitored by the students and tested for maximum density.  At the peak of its reproduction it is harvested, bottled and used in a variety of ways-

· Food for copepods

· Food for rotifers

· Food for our reef tanks

· Bottled and sold to help raise money.
